I was just wondering if any one on this site has stroked, and cam'ed a ka-de? I understand that probably 80% or more of the people on this site would vote against doing this and just to get something bigger and better to put into the car before spending the money to do it. I am just curious to see if anyone here has.

I cant say there isnt a stroker kit for a kade. But im pretty sure nobody makes one. PLus it already has a long ass stroke for a 4 cylinder. Cam'd out is where its at tho. Livens them up real fast.

Brian Crower makes the stroker kit for them. it has a fully counter balanced crank also makes the displacement 2.6 instead of the 2.4. Brian Crower also makes a stroker kit for the SR making it a 2.3L instead of the 2.0. I was just curious to see if anyone here had done it.

i believe greddy made a 2.6L Stroker kit as well. For the money in parts and machine work. there are hundreds of better options. It would be neat to see. but these are already pretty big motors like the boy said.

Yeah they are I'm more interested in how much better a fully counter balanced crank performs over the stock ka crank that is more were my attenion is with this than the increase in liters.

i doubt there is any noticeable difference. people think rotating weight has a massive impact on power. its more about airflow than weight.

now as far as bearing life goes, yes the fully counter balanced crank will help bearing life quite a bit.

I was wondering more of engine feel and responsiveness. Not that it would be in power gains. I have read that the brian crower crank is rated to 1000 hp. I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with it.

when AMS built their first 1000+ hp ka it had a stock crank in it. No balancing, no machine work at all. The ka crank is the strongest fucking part in the motor and can handle gobbs of abuse.

I lighter rotating assembly will had hp, and on top of that, it will make throttle response a whole hell of a lot better. Going from a stock ka with a t3/t04e to a built and counter balanced ka-t was night and day different. Yes it was re-tuned, and yes the head was built as well. But i ran the same psi, same 555's injectors, and same basic tune. It brings a ka to life when you knife edge and counter balance the crank then add h beams and weisco pistons.

But im guessing its like all the studies done on sr's. You can build a stroker bottom end and make these numbers. Or you can build the head and make the same numbers, but in a different rpm range. It all has to do on what you plan on doing with the car, and what range youll be driving it at.

If i were to build another ka. Id throw in rods and stock bore pistons (lower compression of course). Then just build the head. A basic reliable bottom end but a top end ready for abuse is more than anyone needs around here. Hell id probably run a gt2871r on it as well.

So the boy you said when you ran a fully built counter balanced motor it was night and day so I assume it was an improvement. I did not mean to get you going. I just had a question and you gave me a valid responce for my curiosity. Thank you.

Haha, you didnt get me going. I just wanted to make sure you got the correct info before you went on and spent a bunch of money on stuff you were unsure on. Im only here to help man.

And yes it was night and day difference on the good side with a built motor vs stock. Im sure that if you did not want to build a full motor but wanted to kinda feel the difference a lighter rotating assembly makes on a ka. Then you could run a lightened flywheel & clutch, aluminum drive shaft, and a pair of rpf1's or wheels comparable in weight to them. Its not going to be a huge difference, but you will notice it.

lol I should not of made it seem like I was trying to make a 1000 hp ka. I just wanted to know from some one that had experienced the change. I don't plan on dumping money into the car anytime soon. I just keep it going.

LOL

It would be kind of neat to have a high(er) revving KA motor. but the loss of the amount of torque the KA makes might not out weigh the option

i think for a drag setup it would be cool to have something right in the middle say a 2.2L. I quess i'm just sick of only going to 7200 with my ka haha
