PostSubject: 93 Hatch Build. KA-T In The Future!   Sat Dec 07, 2013 10:24 pm

Bought this car a while ago, have not had any good luck with it yet. But when I bought it this is what it was:

1993 240sx Hatchback
SE
Automatic
183,xxx
Some kind of aftermarket deck (I don't remember brand, I planned on changing it anyway)
Drilled and Slotted rotors all around
timing chain snapped. The guy I bought it from had all the pieces to put the motor back together, so that's what we did

Got it all back together and it didn't have compression. I found out later that it looked like none of the valves had pressure against the cam on the intake side. So final conclusion was that motor was junk and I looked for another one.

It was a year later that I found a KA that had '105k' and 'ran great' and a 5 speed transmission. so over that winter and spring I bought all the pieces for a 5 speed swap.

Summer came and I had finally gotten the last piece I needed.
So out went the original KA, and all the automatic krap. In went the 'newer' motor and 5 speed tranny.

Long story short, got it all together finally got it to run and guess what? the motor that was supposed to be in "great shape" rod knocked like a bitch and had coolant mix in with the oil.
Here is a video of this motor running...

So back to square one.

NEW PLAN: Take original motor and
replace head
mild port and polish (may just gasket match it myself along with the slight port and polish)
Good head gasket, probably cometic or fel pro
ARP headstuds
take exhaust cam off other motor for a 248/248 cam setup

My Parts List So Far:
B&M Short Throw Shifter
Ebay 3'in Catback
Megan Racing 3'in Test Pipe
Auto to Manual Clutch line from Agency Power
Custom aluminum shift knob, nismo replica made by a friend. Custom painted by me. Pic when it is done
Enjuki Racing White Bunny Clutch setup 250mm flywheel with a 350z clutch kit. rated for 400HP

Updates to come when I get some money

Wasn't really planning on deleting it. I wanted the SE for the sunroof and the LSD that hopefully works

If it does it probably wont for long. Change the fluid and cross your fingers.

shift knob. painted at school by myself. mixed up the color last year and thought I could use it for something.
There is ALOT of metallic in there

Also got my head gasket in today (fel pro) now I just need head studs and I would really like to get my head ported

after looking at a couple plasti dipped cars on google, I really want to dip my car and wheels, along with a couple interior pieces. And if I don't like it... fuck it, I can rip it off lol

Recently bought a turbo. HX35. has a little shaft play. So in my spare time I will be rebuilding that.

Now I wish I could actually use it...
