Nope, no problem in that. The brakes are seriously awesome. I'm not planning any competitive racing besides just general track days. The car would be in an open class if anything, racing modified porsche and corvette owners with huge tires and tons of power.

2400lbs with 350lb-ft of tq by 2500 rpm should be enough to scare me. I need really good brakes for all that power too.

DefSport 12.2" Wilwood Superlite Front Brake Kit GB Part 2!!! - Nissan Road Racing Forums

Everything is very solid beefy aluminum, yet very light in it's simplicity. I couldn't damage this with my 8lb sledge if I tried - And I am not kidding at all about that.

Some weights posted.

Caliper bracket.

Mil-spec hardware.

Rotor hat.

My car keys tossed on for comparison.

I decided to take a break from my 240 and work on something else.

I have been working on my draping and contouring skills for the cloth. When wrapping a round or complex object you need to make reliefs and remove material as the contours demand.

I made a carbon fiber wrapped lightbulb just for kicks.

My simple card table set up in my office.

Also trying a new method of making matte finish CF on a non stick poly cutting board.

Matte side.

Twill side.

Another new method. I have been looking for a cheap, flat template to make flat sheets on. Wal-mart has a 98 cent baking pan that works beautifully.

Yup. Might be a bit much with a converted manual steering rack and sticky 255's up front.

I was on my way out to take a shot of the left rear inner quarter panel for 77 when I was distracted by the UPS man. Damn awesome parts showing up at the wrong time.

Sorry man, distracted again. Will try again when it's light out.

i would say try to keep your power steering. our cars run a lot of caster which increases steering effort. unless you reduce caster and KPA it might be pretty tough to steer in certain situations with that sticky of a tire and that much meat on the ground. but reducing that is going to hurt handling. just a thought.

I am aware of the negatives of doing a power steering delete. Less complexity, reduced weight, and more driver interaction is a major plus in this particular case. Exact same reasons why I went with manual seat belts from a Sentra.

Also just posted a thread in the wanted section looking for a cheap running S13. If anyone has one available for sale, feel free to talk with me about it.

ECU arrived today. All tuned and ready for the swap. Vats delete, rear 02 delete, set up for 5.3/T56, etc. Also has a nicely sandblasted case.

Now I need some fluids and a battery and....

And....

You guys likely won't approve of this at the moment, but once I get further along you will understand.

I sold my 5.3 engine and my T56 transmission. Along with those I sold the clutch hydraulic setup, LS7 clutch, and harness. - Just sold the mount kit recently as well.

Now why on earth would I do that? Because I came out nearly $1K further ahead than what I had into the setup. I sold the 5.3 for $1350 alone, and I paid $266 for it after the accessories were sold.

It really sucks building a vehicle so slowly. I will try another stab at it again when I am done with college.

The project is just on the backburner and it's going to have to wait for a while.
