PostSubject: Air Bubbles in coolant.   Mon Oct 10, 2011 4:55 pm

Recently I have been having a problem with air bubbles accumulating in my coolant. I can bleed the system and after a few drives I notice the air bubbles are back again. I did a pressure test on the system and it held for over 10 minutes at 30 lbs. of pressure. The cap also tested just fine. I did find one clamp on the lower radiator hose that was a few turns of the wrench loose. I tightened it up and that did not seem to make it go away. I don't think that it is my headgasket because none of the other symptoms of this issue are there. Any ideas on what or where I should be looking at/doing next?

That seems much more logical thank you. Should I check my MAF sensor also?

1: Drain the coolant out
2: fill the cooling system with soap and water
3: drive around with the raditator cap off and it will be a bubble machine on wheels

No, I cut the bottom off of 20 oz. soda bottle. then I wrapped electrical tape around the threaded opening until it fit snug in my radiator opening. This way I was able to make a "high point" in the cooling system for the bubbles to travel to. It doesn't matter how muvh I ran the engine and raced it while doing this the bubbles did not go away. Hence blown HG, also I am now noticing tiny little drops of oil in my coolant. Talk about a bitch! Guess I am glad winter is almost here and it is time to park this P.O.S.
