You need to be realistic too though... And most of the people giving you ADVICE are not "pussies", they just think you'd be better off going a different route due to experience... Including me.

i know and now that you explained that there is numerous support for this swap im leaning towards that now. also...is there a difference between the 1jz engine and 2jz engine besides 1 or 2 turbos. will the mounts still work from the suppliers you listed. If i do get a 2jz i would want to run 1 turbo. so i was looking more towards the 1jz.....any thoughts?

$1999 [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

2JZGTE = 3.0L I6 Twin turbo.
1JZGTE = 2.5L I6 Twin Turbo.

The 1JZGTE in stock form can rev higher. the 1JZGTE internals are good for 7-800hp. where hte 2JZGTE ones are good for 1000ish.

I can build you a 800hp SR for a pack of beer... Seriously though these people are not trying to bash you, just being realistic thats all. Do research and ask your self if you have the ability to do it. You dont...??? Then you need to jump on a more simple project and work your way up.

alright well im new to the game and have no experience with the sr20det motor what so ever. I know the sr20 motor is a closed deck ( ports for coolant) motor unlike the honda motors that are open deck (coolant flows around cylinder sleeves and the block itself.

now i am sorta on a budget for a engine for relatively cheap and am most likely going to build it. i would like to know how much power can be made on stock sleeves. i of course am going to go with after market pitstons and rods.

also i was wondering what rod bearings have prooven to be very pullet proof.

thanks

800hp on a budget? SR as a base to reach that number?

Just do the 800hp sr setup. Document everything you do. Make a huge thread showing all of us how much you spent on it. Take it to dyno and get a chart showing you made your goal. Then go try to drive it on the track and blow it sky high because you did it on a budget and didnt want to listen to anyone. Then come back and tell everyone on here that you are sorry for doubting everyones knowledge. Sr's are a sweet motor but are worthless at 800hp. Plus its more than $10k to build it. Oh and yes youll be sleeving it, and stroking it. Along with everything else you can possibly do to an sr to squeeze out every little bit of power.

But to help you out. Those number on any motor will shorten the life span of it. Any little thing turns them into grenades. Whether its a 1/2J or a small/big block chevy, a bad tune or small flaw in a part will be amplified at 800hp.

300hp is enough for a new person to get their feet wet and not become a danger to the public. And 300hp is very do-able on a budget.

300hp is plenty for a newbie to rwd. especially in an s13. I'm pretty sure 90% of s13 owners have either crashed one at some point or know someone who has. that is with 145hp too.

lol! bevisnbutthead True story. a 300RWHP S13 is a ton of fun, you go to 400whp and not much really plays with it, atleast not on a normal day to day basis. you get towards 500whp and its a whole new story.

are you fucking dumb? if you read the current posts, they made it clear that there isnt much fabrication for the 2jz swap into a 240 and clearly stated that if its this simple im going this route. and i havent had much experience with 240's, but have drive my dads 454 chevy camaro....if your meant to drive fast cars you learn quickly(i learned stick on my dads car so i had to learn fast)
