Started replacing gaskets and found some insight as to the cam in the engine...

I have contacted MTI and am waiting on a response. I can't come up with any other info on the intarwebz for these numbers. Anyone have any ideas?

Got the oil pan and rear cover gasket replaced and mocked up the headers to make sure my thread repairs were going to line up.

Comparing the Spec stage 2 clutch to the Monster stage 3 clutch is like apples and oranges, but I did anyway. The Spec 18 lb flywheel is on the left, the Monster 28 lb fw right.

Spec disc left, Monster right.

Pressure plates.

The difference of thickness in the pressure plates is ridiculous.

Now I'm fighting the pilot bearing. It won't come out with the puller I have, so I'm gonna check with Advance or Vato Zone to see if I can rent or buy one in the morning.

Is the pilot bearing on the LS a similar design to the Nissan stuff? If so, I have seen people have good luck with the "grease trick" or a similar approach.

That doesn't work with an ls. There is a "freeze plug" for lack of a better term behind the pilot bearing, and if you use the grease trick, you run the risk of pushing that out causing a major oil leak.

So you should have this done just on time for it to be put away for the winter? At least it will be fresh and ready for spring!

Doing a little oogling on the google. I found the MTI V1 cam, which i'm assuming has to be the one in your engine.

Okay I finally got my mods done, I have learned so much on this forum. I thought I would post result here.

This cam is called V1 is a new cam that MTI offers 230/232 592/595 111 lsa
205 afr heads milled to 64
Cometic heads
ported fast
Tex clutch
Tnt 100 shot nos setup(no dynos on this yet.

final numbers 476 hp and 445 tq.
I dont have a ls1 but I learned so much from everyone here. I have c6 vette.
Here are some videos.

While searching the cam specs i came across this video on Youtube.

Which sounds pretty damn close to what your car made as well?

You know I'm kidding. I'll go on record and say I think your car will be hard to beat.

On a serious note, your still using the T56 right? So that bell-housing is just a stronger piece made to protect you and the car in the case of a high-rpm clutch catastrophe, not for the purpose of mating to a different trans, correct? Just curious.

I love the V8 swap idea. The more I look into it, the more of a "no-brainer" option it is. Especially since the "baby sized" 4.8/5.3 L can be had for super cheap. Obviously you went the big boy route, which is even better! haha

Any future plans for the powertrain? Nitrous, other FI? Is the stock diff sufficient to hold the torque that thing makes?

That is exactly correct. Not that ~550 bhp is enough to break anything that badly, but I like my feet. The stock bellhousing you could lift with one finger, the quick time is about 30 lbs.

No nos, maybe a centrifugal super or rear mounted turbo wayyyyy down the line.

The diff is stock and has given me no problems as of yet, and I beat it like a red-headed step child.

I can if you want, but it's pretty boring compared to the car.

Speaking of the car, IT RAN TONIGHT! Nick heard it, I had to call him.
